Hi Readers---Im baaaaack!!! I'm so glad you didn't give up on me yet. I guess I caught a bug this weekend, because I really felt crummy for a few days. I'm still a little sluggish today, so I'm going to show you a project I made with one of Becky Roberts 12 Days of Christmas projects. Since I didn't create the pattern, I'll just show you how I made it my own. If you'd like the full tutorial, click on the link above.
One more thing---my new bff over at Six Apart installed that handy little FeedBurner link on the right, so you can be notified by email when I post a new article.
I wanted to make sure my gift card holder wouldn't be tossed out right away, so I added a little calendar inside. Once the gift card is used, the 'giftee' can use the pocket to hold something else.
Here are the supplies I used:
Stamp sets: True Friend, Pg.122 #110378; Totally Tabs, Pg. 129 #113820
Paper: Autumn Meadows, Holiday Mini-Catalog, Pg. 13 #116769; Chocolate Chip CS, Pg. 156 #102128; Really Rust CS, Pg. 156 #100661; Taken with Teal CS, Pg. 157 #101584; Very Vanilla CS, Pg. 155 #101650
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pg. 156 #100908; Really Rust, Pg.156 #102549; Chocolate Chip Craft Pad, Pg. 156 #101816
Accessories: 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, Pg. 186 #109047; Round Tab Punch, Pg. 186 #108340; Snail Adhesive, Pg. 192 #104332; Sticky Strip, Pg. 192 #104294; Sponge Daubers, Pg. 192 #102892; Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, Pg. 178 #112454; Magnet Snaps, purchased at local craft store; 3-1/8" x 2" calendars purchased online.
I layered the calendar onto 3-3/8" x 2-1/4" Taken with Teal cardstock and attached it to the enclosure card pocket with Sticky Strip.
Press one of the flowered brads in the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware Kit into the Chocolate Chip Craft Pad. Wipe off the excess to create the antiqued look.
I originally planned to insert the brad into the 3/4" circle and use wire snips to trim the ends, but I kind of like the look of the ends sticking out, so I left them. Kind of looks like a button hole, doesn't it? Because the Styled Vanilla is coated, the ends aren't sharp.
Attach the brad to the wallet closure.
Attach the magnetic snap to the back of the wallet closure. To line it up with the wallet, I placed the opposite magnetic snap on top of the first one. Then I peeled off the backing and shut the wallet, attaching the snap to the wallet.
Now I have to go downstairs and make 24 of these for my sister. (I owe her for hanging a ceiling fan for me. lol)
Thanks for stopping by.
