Crazy Quilt Card

The top note quilt card wasn't new when I saw it on Diana Gibb's blog last February, but it's my first attempt.  I decided to do it now because I have the perfect occasion to use it.  In a couple of weeks our monthly craft luncheon will begin again after the summer break and these would make great reminders to send out, since most of the others in the group are quilters.

Cut Whisper White CS 3-3/4" x 5".

You'll need 12 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" squares.  You could cut them in strips, but I found it easier, and more accurate, to punch them out.  Ink around the edges with Chocolate Chip and arrange them as desired.

Now you could use Snail to attach the squares to the 3-3/4" x 5" Whisper White CS.  Since I need to make about 10 of these cards, I took a short cut.  I put a tiny bit of temporary adhesive on the front of each piece and laid a sheet of scrap paper on top. Then I ran it through my Xyron machine.

Attach the squares to the 3-3/4" x 5 Whisper White.

Lay this piece face down on the Top Note Die. you may want to use a white gel pen to mark the points on the die so you can line them up with the seams of the squares.  I also marked the seam on the wrong side.

Now place the die-cut piece face down on the the Texturz Plate.  Layer the silicone rubber and impressions pad on top.  Place on Tab #1 of the Multipurpose Platform (Included with Stampin' Up! Big Shot Die-Cut Machine).  If you very lightly spritz the back of the piece with water before running it through the machine, you'll get a better imprint.

Ink around the edges and, if desired, use the Chocolate Chip marker to mark "stitches" around the squares.

Cut  Chocolate Chip CS 4" x 5-1/4". To get the fancy corners, I turned the Scallop Edge Punch over and centered the corner over one of the scallops.  Repeat for all four corners.

 Wrap Dusty Durango Polka Dot ribbon across the front as shown and tape in back.  Use Snail to attach to card front.  use the leftover edges of Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the die-cut piece to the card front.  I recommend adding a few more dimensionals to the center.  (I didn't for my card, but I wish I had.)

The quilt square image measures 1-3/16' x 1-3/16".  Instead of trying to center the image on the square, I stamped it on Whisper White with Chocolate Chip ink and punched it out with the Small Tag Punch. Then I just cut off the top of the tag.  Use a Bender Pen to color in the image as desired. Layer this piece onto 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" Dusty Durange CS with Stampin' Dimensionals.

 Cut Whisper White CS 1" x 2" and use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to center the sentiment.  Stamp with Chocolate Chip and ink around the edges. Staple ribbon to this piece and layer onto Dusty Durange.  Use Snail to attach to the front of the card.
